We listen, challenge, and transform
Trauma is something we all have in common. That statement will either completely resonate with you, or you’ll think it’s ridiculous with the belief, “well, I’ve never experienced trauma”. I would challenge the latter with your definition of trauma. There are what we call "big T" traumas, which are the catastrophic happenings in life. And "little t" traumas, which are the less significant but still impactful happenings; things like not getting the promotion you've been working towards, family tension, financial stressors, or even indirect exposure to something disturbing. Regardless of the magnitude, the hardships and wounds we carry around with us still deserve to be processed and that's where I come in. I work with people from a variety of backgrounds who are wanting to put their traumas, big or little, to rest. As a certified EMDR clinician, I truly enjoy exploring the complexities of trauma with clients to find resolve to the maladaptive behaviors or patterns that have developed over time. We will work together to unveil the roots of the negative beliefs that fuel the disconnectedness, worry, insecurities, sleep disturbances, or sadness. With the goal of replacing the negative belief with an improved perspective and understanding of the situation.
I'm not the docile or perfectly polished "how does that make you feel" kind of therapist. I talk fast, I get loud, and I wear beanies in session. I have overcome severe addictions and a variety of other traumas trailing all the way from childhood. I have been at rock bottom without an essence of hope and I have worked really hard to be where I am at in my own healing journey so I can help be a holder of hope for others through their trials and I care deeply for the folks I choose to work with.I look forward to finding the core of the issue, walking alongside you as we face them, and assisting you in finding the freedom you deserve.
